Wow. What is the deal? I don't know if any of you are still in college (just kidding, I know you're not still in college), but people love talking about hipsters like it's the year 2000. Seriously. They can't get enough of it. Talk about missing the boat. Jesus Christ. It's become that go-to joke that everyone one who isn't clever makes. The type of thing that is supposed to get a laugh just because you used the word.

That being said, I actually kind of liked this. Good job somebody.

Something I Like.

There's a very specific type of dancing that always makes me laugh AND always makes me jealous. Sure, I can dance, but I can't dance like this. Well, it's a long break. I'll have some time to practice.

Check this website out if you want some laughs. It's a photography website, but they posted samples of their work. The category that I linked to is "couples (nude)", which is hilarious! A lot of these pictures are like, "Do they know they're not wearing clothes?" and other pictures are like, "Is it comfortable to lay like that?" and then there's one picture that's like, "That guy has a huge penis." Now you're interested, right? Anyway, who would want these? They're so terrible! It's like the kept all the awkwardness of normal photos but also took all the clothes of normal photos.

You Watched This, Right?

Then watch it again! I'm talking about the latest episode of Bestie x Bestie, duh. I laughed out loud multiple times. I actually really, really hate the use of the word retarded as a pejorative, not because I'm particularly PC but because it's incredibly hurtful. That being said, lots of comedians I like and many of my best friends use the word all the time, so whatever. This is really funny, so what are you going to do?

This guy is using his family to its full potential. I know you guys have seen the original, so I'm not even going to bother posting it. "I am, uh, crazy about the blonde." So good. His Family Ties intro is amazing as well.

The idea is pretty silly, but it was really well done! I mean, this seems like a trailer.

I must say, I like this.

Jason Jones is a funny guy. Usually, when I see a Funny or Die video featuring a celebrity (?) I frown and then watch it and my frown doesn't go away. This time though, my frown was turned upside down, and I couldn't be happier. Now, I don't expect you to watch all of this. It's seven and a half minutes long! You people have lives! But what I'm recommending is, maybe do watch all of it? The execution of it is kind of weird, but there is some real gold in this. The basic concept of the video, a hero whose special ability is shooting people with a shotgun, pretty much wrote video itself. That concept sat down at its typewriter and dashed this one out. Good job, everyone!

Lady Comedy

I found a new hero and her name is Julie Klausner. I plan on making a post about her book, which I read this weekend, but until then...here's this video. I couldn't handle how hard I laughed at this. Other things I couldn't handle: how pretty Julie Klausner is, how much I wish I had hair exactly like hers, how beautiful that dress looks.

Also (can you tell I fell down the rabbit hole, here?) I found this really wonderful essay JK wrote on Hannah and Her Sisters. I've watched this movie multiple times and never once thought about how shitty Woody Allen was being to Mia. Quoth Julie: "Because the cruelty of using poor, fabulous Michael Caine to say what you can’t, in public, to your partner once she is out of character, exceeds the terrain of narcissism and bleeds into some kind of gruesome art. Making this movie to talk to Mia about her adoption hobby, her selflessness, and her general wishy-washiness was a poisonous simulacrum—like talking through one of your Barbies during playtime with your sister. And nobody should learn they’re adopted from Skipper."

Alright, this video starts out funny, and then just gets better from there. Seriously, watch it. How I found this video is much less funny than the video itself, so just shut up.

In light of recent tragedy, I dug deep to recover this video. Why am I posting it now? Because I know that it's a messed-up, confusing world out there, but I just want you to remember that for every terrible tragedy, there is something of equal value to this.

Sarah Haskins is My New Hero

For some reason, I never really watched the Sarah Haskins videos they were always talking about on Jezebel. I was like, "I'm sure those are funny, but I'm busy!" Who was I kidding? I am not busy! But I was right in that they are funny. In these vids (short for videos, sorry, didn't mean to lose you there!), Sarah Haskins looks at advertisements directed towards women. Hilarity ensues. Even H. liked these, and he typically hates everything made for, by, or about women.
Here's one of my faves. But they are all my faves.

New Game

This is a new game that I play, and I must admit I'm pretty good at it. It's called "Notice A.D. Miles When He's In a Movie You're Watching". And I found him in Bamboozled. I'm good. Also, apparently David Wain is in Bamboozled! In case you're wondering, I'm not just lounging around watching Bamboozled. I know, I know it seems like something I would do! In reality I'm watching it in class. By the way, watch this video.

There's Somethin' Really Beautiful About That Frozen Goods Line

I know you're hurting, world. I realize that several days without a blog post is a long time for you, okay? But we have lives. Big, important, busy lives. I mean, yeah, I WANT to post a new post about Carrie Brownstein and how awesome she is, but sorry, I just spent all evening eating the pulled pork sandwiches that Alex made using Bobby Flay's (I almost typed Booby Flay's) barbecue sauce recipe. We've been so busy slowly clogging our arteries and playing frisbee (in Alex and Chase's case, not mine. Also Chase calls it Fro-Bo) and watching the first season of Maude (finally, the intro with sound AND video) that we haven't had time to blog.
Just kidding. Duh. Alex might have things to do but I certainly don't. So until I get around to writing that Carrie Brownstein post, here's a video to show you why that post is necessary. You've probably already seen this (who's 'you'? Who am I talking to?), but watch it again, okay? I had a hard time deciding which video to post. They're all so funny, but this one made a Dan Fogelberg reference so it wins.

Gettin' silly.

If any of you know me (most of you know me), then you know that I, more than almost anybody, love gettin' silly.  Because of this, I love comedy involving people gettin' silly.  However, the internet is full of videos of people gettin' silly that I'm not a big fan of.  There's a really fine line that these "silly getters", if you will, must walk.  Successful people (Stella) are really funny.  Unsuccessful people are not.  Here is a video that I thought was both silly and funny.
